Happy Independence Day

Thomas Jefferson wrote it; Congress adopted it; John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, “…this will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America…” Fifty-six patriotic founders of our nation signed the document that day stating, “All men are created equal,” and guaranteeing certain unalienable rights of, “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” A few days later George Washington read it to his ragtag Army in New York. The document severed the relationship between the Crown, Great Britain and the colonies and the men concurred by pledging their lives, their wealth, and their sacred honor; indeed, several did just that. It was July 4th, 1776. With the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a new nation was born.

The founders fought a Revolutionary War. Our forefathers, grandparents, and parents fought other wars and we continued in their footsteps seeking not to conquer others, not to seize their riches, but to preserve freedom. Now, it is our kids and grandkids serving, our sons and grandsons, our daughters and granddaughters.

For those who wish us ill, let them know: despite our imperfections and disagreements, we stand behind the words of Kate Smith’s signature song, God Bless America and also to The Battle Hymn of the Republic. That is America. We were there when our nation needed us, our kids and grandkids are there now, and so will be future generations. God bless those who founded this great country. God bless those who have defended her and God bless those who are defending her now.

God, please keep them safe – Happy 4th of July – from the Board and officers of the Super Sabre Society.
