Joe was “Commissioned Nov ’67 (OTS). Pilot training at Craig AFB. F-100 training at Luke AFB (4511CCTS), Vietnam tour with 309 TFS. T-38 Instructor, P-Qual branch head, FCF pilot at Columbus AFB, “rated supp” at D-M, T-38IP, Flight commander and SEFE at Holloman AFB (434TFTS).
Separated Dec 1978

Hired by Federal Express (name changed later to FedEx) in April 1979. Flew Flacon Fanjet First Officer, all 3 positions on B-727, and all 3 positions on DC-10 – ending with over 14 years as DC-10 Captain. Retired (by law) at the end of 2004.”
