“The F-100 was a single-seat, single-engine, macho kind of fighter, but it wasn’t that good because it didn’t have any avionics, everything was done manually. The bombing was done manually, strafing was without computer aid. The 100 had no navigation equipment, not even an INS. You just took off and flew 400 miles that way and dropped your bomb on the target.

The F-100 was extremely fun to fly and being single-engine, single-seat, it was what all fighter pilots want to do.”
