CPT Michael D. McGovern was a USAF pilot serving with the 612th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 35th Tactical Fighter Wing out of Phan Rang, AB, Vietnam.

On February 11, 1971, CPT McGovern was piloting a F-100D (#55-2901) when he was involved in a landing accident at Pleiku Airfield in Pleiku Province, RVN. McGovern suffered fatal injuries in the incident. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
