Gordy served in the United States Air Force for 28 years as a fighter pilot, defense inspection team lead, squadron commander. He retired 1982 in Panama City FL and worked for Lockheed Martin’s weapon system division as a pilot controller for 26 years before his retirement in 2008. He moved to The Villages later in 2008. He enjoyed playing golf, going to NFL games, and spending time with friends and other veterans.(1)

Mr. Pollard was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 7, 1935. He served in the United States Air Force for 28 years as a fighter pilot, defense inspection team lead, squadron commander. He retired 1982 in Panama City FL and worked for Lockheed Martin’s weapon system division as a pilot controller for 26 years before his retirement in 2008. He moved to The Villages later in 2008. He enjoyed playing golf, going to NFL games, and spending time with friends and other veterans.

He was preceded in passing by his wife of 47 years Jerry S. Pollard.

He is survived by his brother, Reid Pollard and sister, Kathy Pollard Wood, two children, Michael Pollard of Plant City, FL and Paige Pollard Fortner of Vero Beach, FL and two grandchildren, Lani Pollard and Kacy Pollard, and his 3 dog kids, Tegle, Tia, and Nina.
