Denny Schaan flew the F-100 from 1965-1968 with the 55th Tactical Fighter Squadron out of RAF Wethersfield, and in 1969 with the 309th Tactical Fighter Squadro out of Tuy Hoa AB, Vietnam.

After serving in the USAF he flew the DC-10 and B-727 with Northwest Airlines for 15 years.
