Charles J. Soucia, LtCol USAF, Ret., “Headed West” on August 28, 2010.

Charles (Charlie) Soucia of Austin, Texas passed away August 28, 2010, age 80. He was born in Chateaugay , NY. March 5, 1930 to Arthur and Evelyn Seymour Soucia. Charlie spent his early years in Chateaugay and graduated from Chateaugay High School in 1948.

In 1950, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He later graduated from pilot training in the class of 53 E. Charlie served as a Fighter Pilot in Korea and Vietnam. After 29 years in the United States Air Force, Charlie retired at Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin, TX, in December 1979.

On March 8, 1955, Charlie married Joan Dwyer, also from Chateaugay, NY. They had three daughters, Jan, Jill and Joy.
