Don Trautman “was born in Secor, Illinois, raised in Nebraska and joined the US Navy at an early age. He soon realized the US Airforce was his calling! Don had a distinguished career lighting up the skies in the USA, England, France, Germany and Korea & Viet Nam. Don was an exemplary pilot! Following his military career Don flew corporate aircraft & water bombers.”(1)

Major Donald Dean Trautman was born on October 24, 1927 and passed away on October 23, 2020. “Don slipped the surly bonds of earth peacefully, with utmost faith and from home. He was born in Secor, Illinois, raised in Nebraska and joined the US Navy at an early age.

He soon realized the US Airforce was his calling! Don had a distinguished career lighting up the skies in the USA, England, France, Germany and Korea & Viet Nam. Don was an exemplary pilot!

Following his military career Don flew corporate aircraft & water bombers. He then enjoyed retirement living in Florida, Port Townsend, WA, Lynden, WA, Burns, OR & Sedro Wooley, WA before returning to Victoria, BC.

Don was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth. He is survived by daughters Jody & Patti, their families and many extended family members & friends in USA and Canada. Resting in Peace while Our Band of Brothers is getting smaller by the year!” (1)
