“The only reason I was there [in USAF] was for the airplanes.” In April of 1971, I returned to the United States with my wife and baby daughter and could not find an ANG group where I could go in as a Major. “I spent the next 15 years as a Reserve Assistance Officer for a Civil Air Patrol as a certified flight instructor and spent all of my time out in the field with different Civil Air Patrol units giving biennial flight reviews.

I have flown more than 55 different airplanes both military and civilian. “My favorite, of course, is the F-100.”
