Ed headed west on May 29th after a recent hospitalization and brief hospice stay. He resided in Austin TX, and is survived by his wife Wilma. He flew the F-100  with 18FBW/44FBS, 1957 at Kadena AB, Okinawa.  In 1956 Ed flew F-86’s with the  in the 18 FBW as top cover for the Chinese over Formosa.

From Ed’s daughter:

It’s with great sadness that I inform you that my father Gris passed away today at 2:30 pm. He was surrounded by his family who loved him very much. His condition never improved after he was admitted on Sunday and the difficult decision was made to begin hospice for him. He passed very quickly. We will inform you of a memorial once the plans have been made. His wishes were to be cremated, so additional time will be needed.

Thank you all for your concern and calls during this time. It has meant the world to my family and I know my Dad would be giving a big thumbs up!

Melissa Grischkowsky
