Michael K. Ryan and Ada Ryan Headed West

Michael K Ryan, 83, of Reno, NV passed away at his home on Monday 9/15/14 after a short battle with cancer. Born on 6/22/31 in Albion, NY, he was the son of Col. (Ret) William and Helen Ryan. He married Ada Ingle Ryan on 4/8/62 and had 4 children. He proudly served his country as an aviator in the USAF and earned a Purple Heart after being shot down in Vietnam.

Upon retiring from the Air Force in 1974 the family moved to Danville, CA where Mike worked for Lockheed Martin until his retirement in 1994.

He and Ada moved to Reno, NV where they enjoyed their retirement with good friends. Mike was a member of VFW Post 10053, Verdi, NV, The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 719, American Legion Post 1, and West Point Society of Northern NV. Mike enjoyed his family, airplanes, history, golf, fishing, shooting, photography, world travel, lunch on Tuesdays with his VFW comrades, Fox News and a good highball. He is survived by his wife Ada, daughters Karen Koski (Dwayne), Kathleen Samaris (Col. Charles, Army), Kelly Shaw (Colby), his son William Ryan (Sandra) and sister Maureen Steinbach, grandchildren Justin, Janessa Trujillo (Joe), Jenae’, Cameron, Sophia and great granddaughter Kaydence. Memorial Service: Sat. 9/27/14, 10:00 am St Albert’s Catholic Church, Reno, NV, reception to follow 12:00 pm at the Wilbur D May Museum, Rancho San Rafael Park, Reno, NV. Burial was with Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Ada I. Ryan(1933 – 2017)

Ada Ingle Ryan, 83, of Reno, NV passed away peacefully on June 9, 2017. Born on September 30, 1933 in Clovis, NM, Ada was the daughter of Herman Mack and Mildred Ingle and sister to Mack Ingle Jr. (Joanne). She grew up in Clovis, New Mexico and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a BA in Business and Economics in 1954. She married Michael K. Ryan (MAJ USAF Ret) on April 8, 1962. Mike and Ada raised their 4 children in Danville, CA and enjoyed their retirement years in Reno, NV. She was a dedicated military officer’s wife and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Ada had a wonderful sense of humor and was always so tickled when she heard a clever joke. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, bowling, golfing, and spending time with her family. Ada had a natural grace and southern charm that illuminated her personality. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her daughters Karen Koski (Dwayne), Kathleen Samaris (Charles, COL US Army), Kelly Shaw (Colby), her son William Ryan III (Sandra), grandchildren Justin, Janessa, Jenae’, Cameron, Sophia and great granddaughters Kaydence and Lyla, her sister-in-law Maureen Steinbach, nephews Peter Steinbach, Jeff Steinbach, Jim Ingle, nieces Anne Steinbach (Serge) and Janna Sowers (Mike). She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mildred Ingle, her brother and sister-in-law Mack and Joanne Ingle, nephew John Ingle and her husband Michael K. Ryan (MAJ USAF Ret). Memorial Service will be held on July 17, 2017 10:00 am 1595 N. Sierra St. Reno, NV at The Ranch House, Rancho San Rafael. Ada will be laid to rest with her husband, Michael in a private family ceremony at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
