Today in History – August 6, 1967/1969 – Capt C.C. Clark in ’67 and 1Lt R.P. Busico in ’69 find out what it’s like to eject

August 6, 1967 – Capt C.C. Clark was assigned to the 90th TFS/3rd TFW out of Bien Hoa AB, Vietnam. On August 6, 1967, he was flying F-100D #553639 on a mission to hit Vietcong bunkers in South Vietnam. His aircraft was hit by enemy gunfire and crashed. Clark was rescued uninjured by an Army Helo.

August 6, 1969 – 1lt R.P. Busico was assigned to the 308th TFS/3rd TFW out of  Tuy Hoa AB, Vietnam. Flying out on a mission as ‘Sabre 3″ in F-100 #563090 to hit a rocket cache, he was hit by small arms fire and ejected. Busico was received minor injuries and was rescued by an Army Helo.
