The 50th Anniversary of the TET Offensive at the  Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum

This event was managed by the Bob “Hoppy” Hopkins from start to finish: the concept, the artist, the financing, getting Udvar-Hazy approval, dinner, et al.  The airplane, the lightbox, the airfoils, the now-enshrined and engraved Wall of Honor are all a fitting SSS monument to our legacies and heritage.

The Misty Pilot’s bank account was used to buy a pig-in-the-poke, just trusting the Smithsonian staff with $10,000 and a couple of concept sketches rushed into production. The museum came through and the lightbox dramatically enhances the painting!
