“Attended the first F-100 class of the USAF FighterWeapons School in 1958 and stayed on as an IP/Academic Inst/R&D Test Pilot until 1961.
Served in PACAF HQ-TAC HQPENTAGON-US M,AAG Ethiopia. While at PACAF worked in Fighter OPS and also in the movement control center that was responsible for moving all the aircraft to SEASIA. At TAC I was Director of Fighter REQs/Director of ARMAMENT/AVIONICS/Director of PROGRAMS/REQS.I also chaired the TAC source selection committee for the AX and the GAU-8.
In the Pentagon I worked in Fighter OPS and processed 113 JCS papers(A RECORD) was responsible for the rules -of-engagement and did the target selections and briefed the Chief of Staff on Air Force selections before he went to the JCS for final selection.
In Ethiopia I was directed to build them an AirForce of F-5Es/TPS 43 Radars and an Air Defense system against the Somolias.
My last 7 years of my 34 years of active duty was spent at 9AF Shaw AFB. I sat in as Chief of Staff and then Headed up the 9AF READY TEAM and converted 78 SQS-ACTIVE, GUARD, and RESERVE to F-15s, F-16s, A10s, A-7s, F-4s, and C-130s.
