George “grew up in Stoughton, MA, where he “graduated from Stoughton High School in 1957 as a four-season athlete. He was on ROTC while he attended Tufts University and graduated in 1962 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
George served in the US Air Force from 1962-1969 as a Fighter Jet Captain where he flew the F-100 Super Saber fighter jet. In the Air Force, George was stationed primarily in Japan and South Carolina, settling later in his civilian life in North Brookfield and Spencer, MA. George flew for many years as a commercial airline Captain for US Airways, retiring in 1993.

George was born in Medford, MA to Archibald DeMone and Isabelle (Klim) DeMone. George grew up in Stoughton MA. where he graduated from Stoughton High School ‘57 as a four-season athlete. He was on ROTC while he attended Tufts University and graduated in 1962 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. George served in the US Air Force from 1962-1969 as a Fighter Jet Captain where he flew the F-100 Super Saber fighter jet. In the Air Force, George was stationed primarily in Japan and South Carolina, settling later in his civilian life in North Brookfield and Spencer, MA. George flew for many years as a commercial airline Captain for US Airways, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, flying, watching New England Sports teams, and going to New Hampshire to spend time on Blaisdell Lake with his extended family.
George is survived by his spouse of 45 years; Joan (Kokansky) DeMone, his son; Gregory DeMone and wife Santina of Ludlow, daughter; Gretchen DeMone and her husband Michael Sullivan of Rehoboth, stepson; Jay Czaja and his wife MaryBeth of West Brookfield and stepson; Jon Czaja of Texas. He leaves his Grandchildren; Lucas Czaja, Mathew Czaja, Elizabeth Czaja, and Graeme Sullivan. George is also survived by his sister; Margaret DeMone of New Hampshire and brother; A. James DeMone of Westford.
A funeral service for George was held on Wednesday, July 5th . Burial with Military Honors followed in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
