30 March 1966: Bob Oaks was assigned to the 316th TFS at Tan Son Nhut Air Base near Saigon. On a mission over South Vietnam, his aircraft was hit on the left wing by small arms fire. 30 March 1967: Capt. David Carl Lindberg “Ramrod 8” is assigned to the 531 TFS out of Bien Hoa. On a mission in F-100 (#563027) over Laos, the aircraft is hit on the right wing by gunfire. Capt. Lindberg is forced to eject and is recovered uninjured by a USAF helo.
30 March 1982: The Space Shuttle program: STS-3 Mission is completed with the landing of Columbia at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. (2)
