“Bob was born March 14, 1928, to Ella Mae Heacker and Wesley Mec Dees in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from North Dallas High School, he attended and graduated from Baylor University. He enjoyed two careers: the life of an Air Force pilot for 28 years, and then became a pilot instructor for American Airlines. He said many times of his work: “I can’t believe I get paid to do this!” A fortunate man indeed.” (1)

Robert W. Dees, USAF, Ret., “Headed West” on May 4, 2021.
Bob Dees piloted his final flight, bound for Heaven, the afternoon of May 4, 2021. Tenacity and strength pushed him through a slow and debilitating battle with Alzheimer’s disease. His wife of 72 years, Winona, was ever-loving at his side. Their unique devotion to one another was witnessed daily by anyone who knew them.
Family was his top priority. He was a faithful husband, a devoted father and an actively involved Bobpa. He demonstrated how to live a good and humble life, the value of honest hard work, the importance of preparation and how to balance the challenges of life.
