CAROLINA SHORES, NC — John William Jones, Jr., 82, of Carolina Shores, NC, died Friday, March 2, 2012, in the Seacoast Medical Center.
Born in Charlotte, NC on April 5, 1929 he was the son of the late John William and Lelia Alexander Jones, Sr. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Francoise Jones and a son John William Jones, III. He was retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Lt. Colonel and was also a retired owner-operator of a dry cleaning firm. He was a member of the Brunswick County Power Squadron, the Myrtle Beach Daedalians, a Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner and a former Lion’s Club Member.
Surviving are his sons Robert Jones, wife Susan, of Carolina Shores, NC and Edward Jones of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 10:00 AM in St. James, The Fisherman, Episcopal Church, Shallotte, NC. Interment services will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 12:00 PM in the Elmwood Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.
