Donnie Duplissey, while a 1Lt was flying his F-100 on a refueling training mission over Manilla Bay, Philippines when it collided with another F-100 flown by Capt. Hernaldo Avila. Donnie was rescued by a fisherman, but Avila was KIA.
After serving 7 years as a fighter pilot, in 1969 he graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and went on to enjoy the practice of corporate law for forty years.

Donnie R. Duplissey was born in Baytown, Texas on March 8, 1937 and passed away on December 6, 2010 at his home in San Antonio, Texas. He successfully fought several types of cancer over the past three years but a brain tumor took his life. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Willie P. Duplissey and his mother, Patricia (Pat) Duplissey.
Donnie graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1955 and graduated from Texas A & M University in 1959. After leaving Texas A&M, he served seven years in the United States Air Force where he was a jet fighter pilot. In 1969 he graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and went on to enjoy the practice of corporate law for forty years.
Donnie is survived by his sister Barbara Duplissey Baker and her husband Dr. Charles Baker and his brother Gary Duplissey and Gary’s wife, Susan Crockett Duplissey along with four nephews and two nieces.
