In 1942, [Stan] enlisted in the US Army Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. Upon completion of mechanics school, Stan became an Aviation Cadet, graduating as a fighter pilot. He went to China as a P-40 “Warhawk” Pursuit pilot and flew with the famed 14th Air Force “FLYING TIGERS”. Stan met his wife, Elizabeth Ann Webb, while stationed at Santa Ana AAFB, California. Stan returned to civilian life to become a civilian instructor pilot, a charter pilot, and finally a personal pilot.
Stan attended University of Puget Sound and was recalled to active duty with the Air Force early in the Korean War. Stan remained on active duty flying fighter aircraft. Between assigments, he completed his college education with a bachelors degree in General Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Stan volunteered for a combat tour during the Vietnam War, and was 4th commander of the F100 “Misty” Squadron while flying a total of 109 combat missions in Vietnam. Upon returning from his Vietnam tour, Stan received orders to Camp Smith in Hawaii. He then attended Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama.
In 1971 Stan retired from active duty as a Colonel with over 28 years’ service.
Stan became an Associate Real Estate Broker for his brother Earl at Mamlock Realty for 10 years. Upon retiring full time, Stan went on to travel, fish, and golf. (1)

Stanley M. Mamlock Colonel (Retired) USAF. Stan, the second son of Henry M. Mamlock and Gertrude (Zelinsky), Mamlock, was born in Tacoma, Washington on 4 February 1923, and passed away on 7 August 2007.

Stan is survived by daughter Nancy Lavey of Montgomery, Alabama, son Scott (Teresa) Mamlock of Puyallup, sister Virginia (Leonard) Glaser of Vancouver, Washington, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
