Raymond F. Hanson, 78, of Leawood, Kan., passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012.

Ray Hanson - beforeRaymond was born January 15, 1934, in Austin, Minn. He was a graduate of West Point Military Academy. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired after 23 years of service.

Raymond was a member of the West Point Association of Graduates, the Order of Daedalians, and St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Rae Hanson. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia R. Hanson, son, Kevin M. Hanson, and granddaughter, Lauren.

A mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
