Ron Schleede flew the F-100 at Cannon AFB in New Mexico and Wheelus Airbase, Libya. After serving with the USAF he became an aircraft accident investigator. He “is internationally known and respected for his contributions to aviation safety during his more than 28 years at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Just before his retirement, he served 6 months as the Director of Investigations for Air at the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, making him the only person in the world who has led major investigation programs for two countries. His career began as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, where he was involved in accident investigations both as a pilot and as a maintenance officer.”(1)
Ron has played an accident investigator on the show NTSB, and the TV documentaries Air Crash Investigation Special Report and Seconds from Disaster.
He is also the investigator on the Smithsonian Channel’s “Every Plane Crash from Air Disasters”
