Roland “Chico” Solis – Caterpillar Story
“Parachute Saves Bucks Pilot: Capt. Roland Solis, 29, of Newtown, Bucks County, parachuted to safety when his Air Force F100 Supersabre jet and another, collided, exploded and crashed 50 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nev., it was reported yesterday. Capt. Solis and the other pilot, 1st Lieut. Arley W. McRae, of Starke, Fla., suffered minor injuries. The collision occurred at 20,000 feet while both planes were making passes at a towed target.”
