George Howard Peacock, Col USAF Ret., “Headed West” on March 6, 2022.

Col. George H. Peacock, 85, of Panama City, Florida, flew West on March 6, 2022.

He was born December 4, 1936, in Quincy, Florida, and graduated from Florida State University. He was commissioned into the United States Air Force in 1958, retiring 30 years later. He has been a fighter pilot, a leader, and an inspiration to many. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved us all. He completed 100 missions over the Red River while serving in Vietnam and earned the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, a Purple Heart, amongst so many more. He was a proud member of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association until he passed. He was a fisherman, a hunter, a golfer, and a friend to all who crossed his path. Always full of stories, his smile and laugh were known to everyone. His faith was strong, and he led by example.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Velva.

He is survived by his wife Bobbie, son Ness (Jen), daughter Renee, grandson Tyler (Amanda), granddaughters Teriann and Carley (Tavis), and great-grandchildren Cameron and Peyton, as well as extended family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him!

There will be a memorial service at First United Methodist Church, 903 E 4th St, Panama City, FL 32401 on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will follow. Arrangements for his interment have been made for Arlington National Cemetery.
