Warren “Van” Vanderburgh Headed West

vanderburghSSS member Warren “Van” Vanderburgh, 74, headed west November 17, 2016. He was an extraordinary man. He was a fighter pilot and 14 time Top Gun. He retired from the Air Force but loved the flying fighters so much joined the reserves (Some play golf, he flew fighters on weekends). He flew 27 years in fighter and and was an American Airlines captain for 32 years. He retired from both. He built a private corporate jet business and retired again. He loved life, family, God with complete open arms. He is survived by his wife, Donna Vanderburgh, and sons, Warren Vanderburgh Jr., Tyler Hardman and wife, Ivanna, of Washington, D.C., and Wesley Hardman and wife, Alex; grandson, Wyatt Nicholas Hardman, all of Odessa.

His funeral was held at St. Andrew Episcopal Church on 23 November. Interment at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery followed.
