10 February 1970 – 1Lt J. Vance Phillips was serving with the 612 TFS/35th TFW out of Phan Rang AB, Vietnam. On the tenth of February 1970, he was on a mission looking for landing zone preparation when his aircraft was hit in the fuselage. Phillips ejected and was recovered suffering only minor injuries.
