Today in History – July 5, 1968/1969 – Col P.B. Hardy, Capt.D.W. Jenny, and S.L. Shook eject from F-100D’s

5 July 1968 – P.B. Hardy “Misty 3” is serving with the 614TFS out of Phan Rang. On this day, he and co-pilot Capt David W. Jenny (SSS member) are on a mission over NVN, when their F-100 #581226 is hit in the tail by Heavy 37mm AAA. They eject and are recovered by a USAF Helo.

5 July 1969 – S.L. Shook “Ramrod 4” is assigned to the 531TFS out of Bien Hoa.  He is flying F-100D #553589 over SVN when the aircraft is hit by small arms. He is rescued by an Army Helo and is uninjured.
