Today in History – December 16, 1968 – Capt James Andra Nugent ejects from F-100D #552920

16 December 1968 – Capt James Andra Nugent had been serving with the 612th TFS out of Phu Cat AB, RVN in December of 1968. During a mission over SVN, his F-100D was hit in the engine by gunfire. He ejected from the aircraft and was rescued by an Army helo. Jim had served with the 612th out of Phu Cat, Phan Rang, and Tuy Hoa airbases from Sept 1968-Sept 1969.
