Jim Van Scyoc has a memorial service scheduled for Monday, 13 October 2014, 1400 hours at French Funeral ,10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. His internment will occur at the Santa Fe National Cemetery the next day at 1245.
Jim was born during 1933 in Illinois and graduated rad from high school in ’51 and joined the Air Force as a B-29 tail gunner. In 1954 he completed pilot training & flew for the Air Force till he joined the NMANG in 1958. During his flying career, he flew F-84 – 35 hrs, F-86 – 554 hrs, T-33 – 380 hrs, F-100 – 4038 hrs, and A-7 – 2370 for a total of 7,377 hours and retired in 1993 as a Colonel. Jim was also an avid skier, tennis player, and skeet shooter.
