30 September 1950 – The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) was founded in 1951, when scientists from the field of space research gathered in an attempt to ensure a constant dialogue between the space nations, regardless of political turmoil. Gayle flew F-100’s with the 1738 Ferry Wing, Kelly Field, TX, 72TFS -Yakota AB, Japan, 510TFS Clark AB, PI, and served with the 19th AF Seymour Johnson, S.C; Air National Guard Bureau, Pentagon, and the 3rd Air Force while flying from Lakenheath, and Bentwaters AB’s, UK.
