Bob was the first born son of Harold and Dorothy Bryan and was raised in
Quenemo, KS. He passed away May 31, 2015.

Bob graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and received his pilot wings in 1967 from Vance AFB, Oklahoma. After completing F-100 RTU at Luke AFB, Arizona, he was assigned to the 612 TFS at Phu Cat AB, RVN in June, 1968; he served as an F-100 Misty Fast FAC in 1969. Upon his return, Bob completed Pilot Instructor Training and was stationed at Laughlin AFB training new Pilots, until January, 1972. He returned to Southeast Asia in April, 1972, flying the F-4E out of Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand. Next, he was assigned to the 43rd TFS at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. Following the tour in Alaska, Bob was assigned as Test and Evaluation Pilot flying the F-4E and the F-15 at Eglin AFB, Florida. In August, 1983, he became the Squadron Commander of the 433rd TFS, Satan’s Angels, an AT-38 at Holloman AFB, New Mexico.
He retired from the Air Force in 1989 at Eglin AFB, Florida, with a Silver Star, 5 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 2 Purple Hearts and 33 Air Medals.
Bob’s second career was flying for United Parcel Service, where he was a captain of the DC-8, 767 and 757 in his 17 year career for UPS. He retired in 2002 and in 2007 moved to Emory, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Bryan of Wylie, TX, Kevin and Traci Bryan of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Julie Norkett of Plano, TX; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Maryann Bryan of Oskaloosa, KS, and Jerry and Shiela Bryan of Sherrard, IL; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Robert Bryan will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at
1:30 PM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, followed by internment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
